I pinned this biscuit idea onto my ‘Operation Santa Claus’ Pinterest board months ago (via Domestic Goddess Blogspot) and have been waiting for the festive period to arrive so I could give the recipe a go. I have to say I’m really pleased with the result. I would like to claim it’s because I’m a wizz in the kitchen but the fact is these are the easiest biscuits EVER!
1 packet of milk chocolate digestive biscuits (I guess any chocolate covered biscuits would suffice)
Chocolate Smarties (red and pink are the best colours to use)
A pot of Jelly Diamonds
A bar of good quality white cooking chocolate
Melt the chocolate in a bowl taking care not to burn it. The easiest way to do this is to break the chocolate into pieces in a bowl. Suspend the bowl in a saucepan on hot water and stir. Leave the chocolate to cool slightly to avoid melting the biscuits chocolate coating.
Sort out jelly diamonds for the pudding’s ‘holly’ and red or pink Smarties for a berry.
Drizzle a teaspoon of white chocolate onto each biscuit shaping it with the back of the spoon to look like the pudding’s cream topping.
Place the biscuits on a wire cooling tray to allow the white chocolate to completely harden. Display on a festive plate, put the kettle on and sit back while everyone enjoys your ‘hardwork’ over a cup of tea!
