I’m playing catch up with my posts at the moment. So here’s a look back at my road trip to beautiful Cornwall with my friend Emma who was visiting from NY.
Cornwall is a 5 1/2 hour drive from Bedfordshire so I highly recommend a copilot who can feed you ‘Hula Hoops’ on request … Cheers Em!
We stayed in a restored 1950’s Airstream Caravan, very cool. Although we both agreed they could have made a little more effort with the decor inside. Can’t complain though as this wasn’t any old caravan. We had a wet room, dishwasher and wood burning fire!
We were a five minute walk from this stunning beach at Mawgan Porth.
Mawgan Porth is also home to the very swanky ‘eco’ Hotel Scarlet. We stopped off for a lovely glass of Sancerre and took in the view from their terrace.
On a rainy afternoon we walked across the cliff top at Bredruthan Steps. We did consider walking down to the beach but the steps were steep and treacherous so we admired it from afar.
When in Cornwall it would be rude not to indulge in a Cornish Cream Tea. Oh! Clotted Cream …. Yummy yum yum yum!
… and if Jamie Oliver’s restaurant Fifteen is in the next bay it would be equally as rude not to have dinner there. My advice is if you find yourself down this neck of the woods, indulge. Wonderful meal, great wine, beautiful views and impeccable service.
