January Fitness – Week 1

As New Years Day fell on a Wednesday I’m tracking my weeks from Wednesdays to Tuesdays!

Here’s how I did on the exercise front for the first 7 days of 2014 despite going back to work on 6th.

Thursday 2nd January – Morning Spin Class


Saturday 4th January – Afternoon Gym Session consisting of strength and core work followed by intervals on the treadmill.

Sunday 5th January – Morning Total Body Workout Class. Total Body Workout is a nice way of saying ‘killer circuit training’! I went with my (triathlete) Brother for support as it’s been quite some time since I’ve tried anything new at the gym. Across various stations I used Kettle Bells, Ropes, Bar Bells, Hand Weights, a Swiss Ball, Cones for sprint work and a Step. It was intense, I was breathless and sweaty by the end, but it was GREAT!


Tuesday 7th January – An hours Personal Training with the pocket rocket, Lauren. This consisted of more Kettle Bells, more ropes, a very high step, lots of planks and the treadmill.

I set myself the goal this month of working out at the gym at least 3 times a week. I’m already in credit and it feels really good.
